  1. Contextual Understanding of Scripture:
    • How does understanding the context of a Bible passage enhance our interpretation and application of Scripture?
    • Can you think of a time when reading a passage in context changed your understanding of it?
  2. Tradition vs. Commandments:
    • In what ways can traditions become obstacles to following God’s commandments?
    • How can we discern which traditions enrich our faith and which ones detract from it?
  3. Inner Defilement:
    • What does Jesus mean when He says that what comes out of the mouth defiles a person?
    • How can we cultivate a heart that produces words and actions that honor God?
  4. Faith and Humility:
    • What can we learn from the Canaanite woman’s approach to Jesus about faith and humility?
    • How can we apply her persistence and humility in our own prayer lives?
