They Couldn’t Shut Him Up – Acts 4:1-22
May 31 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

“And they arrested them and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening. But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.”
Acts 4:3–4 · ESV
This Sunday
The same sermon that saved 5,000 landed two preachers in jail.
Peter and John healed a man who had never walked a day in his life, right on the steps of the Temple. Five thousand people believed. And the most powerful religious court in Jerusalem moved in to shut it down.
They couldn’t.
Seven months ago, the Chinese Communist Party launched its largest coordinated crackdown on an independent church in over 40 years — arresting nearly 30 pastors of Zion Church, including founder Pastor Ezra Jin, whose congregation had grown to 5,000 believers through Zoom sermons during the pandemic. Before the arrests came, someone asked him what would happen if all of Zion’s leaders were taken. He replied: “Hallelujah — because a new wave of revival is coming.”
Two thousand years apart. Same miracle. Same number. Same response from the authorities. Same God.
Come hear what happens when the gospel runs headlong into power — and power loses.
